What Works Conference on
Quality of Teaching in Higher education
OECD Programme on Institutional Management in Higher Education (IMHE)

This conference will explore the policies and strategies designed and implemented by institutions to promote the quality of teaching, the linkage between quality of teaching and learning outcomes and the impact of the national policies and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of teaching in higher education.

The conference is intended for institutional leaders, faculty academic members and researchers, representatives of quality assurance agencies and bodies dealing with quality teaching as well as for students.

Contribution can encompass research papers, but also papers reflecting on effective and innovative practice or featuring the scholarship of teaching and learning. Contributions with a reflective, evaluative or self-critical nature will be preferred.

Deadline: Contributions are due by 21 September 2009.

Selection:Contributors will be notified if their proposal has been accepted by 2 October 2009 at the latest. The selection process is aimed at ensuring the relevance of the content and its compliance with the goals of the What Works conferences, notably the contribution must:

- Have a clear focus
- Be coherent and understandable to an international audience.

Contributions will be reviewed by the Steering Group for Quality Teaching review and by the IMHE Secretariat.
